What to Expect
Sunday Morning Church
We hold two worship services every Sunday morning. These services are at 8 AM & 10:30 AM. All services are held in the Sanctuary on the top floor of the building. There is no dress code and all are welcome.
When you come in for a visit, make sure to pick up a bulletin as you make your way into the Sanctuary. This let’s you know what’s going on as we worship God together.
On the first Sunday of every month, we partake in communion. In the United Methodist Church, anyone can participate.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I don’t know the words to the songs or prayers?
The words of the songs and the Lord’s prayer are projected on the screens in the front of the church in all three services.
Grab a bulletin on your way in to help follow what’s going on and what order everything is happening.
How does communion work?
Each pew comes up one by one to kneel at the altar rail. The elements are located there for everyone to take part in communion. First, the bread is consumed and then the grape juice is partook.
All bread used for Communion at SUMC is Gluten-Free!
Doing flu season, communion is distributed to you in your pew in single-serve containers with juice and a bread wafer.
Am I allowed to take communion?
Yes! We welcome all to join us for Communion, but do request that you do so with a reverence and love for God and understanding of the meaning of Jesus’ sacrifice symbolized through Communion.
What is there for the kids?
For our littlest attendees, we have a nursery on-site. For those slightly older, every service has a short Children’s Sermon that presents a similar topic as the full sermon using props, interactive elements, and even lollipops! We also have Sunday School Classes for various age groups that are held during the 9:30 AM hour between services.
How long is each service?
All Services run for about one hour.
Is there a dress code?
Nope!
Where can I park?
We recently re-surfaced a large portion of our parking lot – there is plenty of space for everyone to easily get in and out. Aside from a few Handicapped parking spots, there is no reserved parking at Saegertown UMC.
Where should I sit?
Please sit wherever you find most comfortable. As a denomination, the United Methodists were historically one of the first to promote full freedom in seating – no pew is reserved.
Is there a Nursery?
We have a full Nursery on-site if your little ones need anything during a service (Intended for ages 4 & under). It is directly across the hall from the Sanctuary and we have staff on hand during the 10:30 AM service to assist if you just need a break. Jesus loves the little children and so do we!
